AILLTE AN MHOTHAIR

Hoy en la sección THE WORLD VIEWED THROUGH OTHER EYES conoceremos a través de los ojos de Berta, una parte del condado de Clare en la República de Irlanda, concretamente los AILLTE AN MHOTHAIR como se le denomina en gaélico irlandés a los Acantilados de Moher o Cliffs of Moher. Conocidos como los "acantilados de la ruina", hay que decir que se elevan 120 metros sobre el océano Atlántico en un punto llamado Hag's Head y se extienden a lo largo de 8 kilómetros hasta alcanzar una altura de 214 metros! Wow! Así que, venga, vamos a verlos!!! Enjoy the pics!!!

Today in section THE WORLD VIEWED THROUGH OTHER EYES we know through the eyes of Berta, a part of County Clare in the Republic of Ireland, namely Aillte an Mhothair as it is called in Gaelic to the Cliffs of Moher. El 8 de marzo se celebra el Día Internacional de la Mujer Trabajadora. Según las cifras, en España se registran 47.815 mujeres en paro, un 11,4% más que hace un año. Hoy se celebran muchos actos en los que por lo menos se coincide en que las medidas laborales que se apliquen en adelante se hagan conforme al principio de igualdad de oportunidades para que las desempleadas tengan más posibilidades de acceder al mercado laboral.

Es un buen momento para detenerse, tomar un buen café y reflexionar... y continuar luchando por los derechos!

Hoy estrena El Bohío un nuevo apartado: "THE WORLD VIEWED THROUGH OTHER EYES" (El mundo visto por otros ojos). Está situado en la barra de pestañas que está debajo del título de este blog.

Esta es una nueva ventana por la que no solo vamos a poder ver diferentes lugares del mundo, sino que las imágenes irán acompañadas de un comentario o referencia que estará realizado por otras personas, de las cuales haré una presentación o introducción y en el que luego ellos describirán brevemente el lugar, darán una opinión sobre el mismo, una sugerencia, un recuerdo etc

CRUZ DE LOS CAÍDOS EN PONTEVEDRA

No se trata de una imágen religiosa, aunque evidentemente toda cruz tiene una connotación religiosa, en este caso, se trata de un monumento a los caídos en la Guerra Civil Española (1936-1939). Está situado en una céntrica plaza en Pontevedra (Galicia, España) y rinde homenaje a los que murieron luchando. Creo que impresiona más verla en persona porque se aprecia realmente la inmensidad del monumento. 

UNA GRAN CRUZ!!!

It is not a religious image, but obviously every cross has a religious connotation, in this case, it is a war memorial in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). It is located in a central square in Pontevedra (Galicia, Spain) and pays tribute to those who died fighting. OREJAS DE CARNAVAL

Las llamadas "orejas" es uno de los postres típicos de los carnavales de Galicia. Además de tomarlas como postre, las puedes tomar en el desayuno, de merienda, o realmente cuando te apetezcan!
Mucha gente ha sentido curiosidad por este plato de repostería casera y me han preguntado en que consisten. Aunque hay variaciones en la receta, aquí rige la regla de que "cada maestrillo tiene su librillo" y así salen diferentes en función de quien las haga y la forma que le de cada cocinero/a.
De masa gorda o de masa fina y crujientes, dependiendo de las cantidades utilizadas, para las finas y crujientes les dejo la manera de hacerlas:

Si algo tienen en común estos edificios es que todos ellos albergan grandes y conocidos centros comerciales europeos! Con apenas 1 año de antigüedad, el Marineda City inaugurado en  A Coruña, España, viene a ser un nuevo concepto de macro área comercial, innovador, espacioso y con mucha luz natural. 

De reconocido prestigio internacional e impresionantes edificios; el Harrods y el Liberty en Londres, las Galeríes Lafayette en París o el Magna Plaza en Amsterdam, por citar alguno, son un buen ejemplo de arquitectura y diseño, cada uno en su estilo, pero... ya veremos detalles en otro momento!

Hoy se celebra el 300 aniversario de la apertura al público de la Biblioteca Nacional de España. La Real Biblioteca, como se le conocía antes, abrió sus puertas el día 1 de marzo de 1712, reinando en ese momento Felipe V. Una colección de prensa de casi 20.000 periódicos, 110.000 títulos de revistas, más de 30.000 manuscritos, unos 3.000 incunables, 500.000 impresos anteriores a 1831 y más de seis millones de monografías modernas, componen el patrimonio que se custodia entre sus muros, todo esto sin contar las colecciones de grabados, fotografías, dibujos, partituras de música, carteles, mapas antiguos y modernos, documentos sonoros y ficheros audiovisuales.

MAGNÍFICO PATRIMONIO CULTURAL!!!
