Estos días ha estado circulando por internet, a través de diferentes redes sociales como facebook, y también por medio de correos electrónicos, una historia que probablemente en cuestión de segundos haya dado la vuelta al mundo sin dejar indiferente a nadie. Aunque no se trata de una historia reciente, El Bohío de María no quería ser menos y por si hay alguien que aún no ha tenido la oportunidad de conocerla, se la contamos al pie de la letra:
"Un antropólogo propuso un juego para los niños de la tribu africana Xhosa. Puso una cesta llena de frutas cerca de un árbol y les dijo a los niños que quien llegara primero ganaría todas las frutas. Cuando les dió la señal para que corrieran, todos se cogieron de las manos y corrieron juntos, y luego se sentaron juntos a disfrutar del premio.
Cuando les preguntó por qué habían corrido así respondieron: UBUNTU, que quiere decir: ¿Cómo uno de nosotros puede ser feliz si todos los demás están tristes?"
UBUNTU en la cultura Xhosa significa: "Yo soy porque nosotros somos"
El juego del Círculo Osani consiste en que los niños se sientan formando un círculo y todos conectados a través de los pies. Cada niño tiene que citar el nombre de un objeto redondo como el sol, la luna, una estrella, un ojo y luego nombran una expresión que sea figurativa de algo circular, como la familia, la unión a un bebé en el vientre o el ciclo de la luna. Cuando un jugador ya no sea capaz de citar algún ejemplo, va siendo eliminado del juego, hasta que finalmente solo queda uno. La tradición cuenta que este jugador va a vivir una larga y próspera vida.
